Dear Fellow Merino Breeders
Please find our flyer, offering semen in our top sire, Orrie Cowie Magnif 222.
We have undertaken this marketing project, as we genuinely believe this ram to be an outstanding sire, and one that could be utilised by most studs in this country.
As a lamb, he was a standout, with a beautiful clean, soft muzzle and long ears. He continued to impress, and in 2003 we took him to Adelaide where he was Reserve Grand Champion Autumn Shorn Ram (over horns and polls), coming through from the fine wool classes.
We used him for the 2004 lambing and several semen packages were sold. In 2004 we took him back to Adelaide, where he was Champion Medium Wool Merino Ram. We then entered him in the objective measurement class, where he achieved the equal highest carcase measurement points and was in the final ribbon winners. He came out of the wool exceptionally well, with a clean, loose and thin skin.
The most exciting aspect though is how well he has bred. He has consistently stamped his structure, type & bright, free growing wool traits on his progeny, not only in our stud, but also in the other studs that purchased semen in 2003. A very high percentage of our 2005 sale tops are by Magnif 222. You can inspect them at our inspection day on 8th July, at our sale (on 22nd July) or at Bendigo 2005. We highly recommend this top and prepotent sire to you, and welcome your enquiry. Give us a call if you want more details.
Yours faithfully, Dennis & Heather Dalla
